Terms and Conditions
All prospective Hedgehog owners will be expected to agree to and sign the following contract.
Breeder and Owner Agreement
1. Both the breeder and the buyer are happy at the time of
sale that upon inspection the outward appearance of the hedgehog is clean and
healthy. The hedgehog unrolls in the hand and appears of good weight is relaxed
and content.
2. The breeder is not responsible for any veterinary
expenses incurred by the purchaser of this hedgehog after the date of
sale.
3. The breeder will offer full and comprehensive care
sheet that will accompany the sale of the hedgehog.
4. The breeder will provide a supply of the hedgehog’s
regular food and recommend that a low fat cat kibble is offered as a staple with
fat/oil content no greater than 10%.
5. If the hedgehog is to die before it is 12 calendar
months old of a genetic defect or illness proven to have been present before
purchase, and proof in the form of contact with purchasers vet and a veterinary
letter, then a replacement hedgehog will be given; absolutely no refunds
apply.
6. The hedgehog will be of similar quality and of
breeder’s choice. (Please note: this clause is only valid for hedgehogs up to 12
months of age, it does not apply to hedgehogs purchased over 12 months of
age).
7. All guarantees as recorded here become null and void in
the case of the hedgehogs resale, trading or gifting to another
owner.
8. The breeder gives consent for the hedgehog to be used
in a responsible and ethical breeding program.
9. This hedgehog is registered with the UK African Pygmy
Hedgehog Registry and sale will include a pedigree with known
lineage.
10. If the buyer no longer wishes to keep the hedgehog
after a period of time the breeder will take back the hedgehog and offer it for
suitable re home as seen fit by the breeder. No compensation will be offered for
this service.
11. Prior to any refunds or replacement animal being made,
all papers issued with this animal must be returned, properly signed,
transferring ownership back to the breeder.
12. All care has been taken by the breeder to produce a
friendly and well socialised hedgehog. The breeder cannot guarantee success in
retaining this temperament due to it moving to a new environment. By signing
this contract, the Purchaser totally agree to this statement and fully
understand there are NO guarantees on how this hedgehog’s temperament develops
after it leaves the breeders home.
13. The hedgehog is sold in good faith and bred to the
highest standards.
14. The buyer agrees to pay all court costs if this
contract is litigated.
